(1) There will be an academic council as a body to organize and regulate the educational, academic and research activities of the institution.
(2) The formation of the Academic Council will be as follows:-
(a) Principal – Chairman
(b) Five persons nominated by the Assembly on the recommendation of the Executive Council from among the chairpersons of various thematic committees of the Foundation - members
(c) Director – Member
(d) Heads of institutions related to curriculum and examination – members (e) Two members including at least one woman nominated by the Assembly on the recommendation of the Executive Council from amongst the teachers. (f) Two members, including at least one woman, nominated by the Assembly on the recommendation of the Executive Council from among those who have made special contributions in the field of health. (g) Dean – Member – Secretary nominated by the Vice-Chancellor from among the Deans (3) The term of office of the nominated members according to sub-section (2) shall be three years.
(4) If the position of a nominated member becomes vacant for any reason, another person will be nominated for the remaining period according to the same procedure as was previously filled in that position.
(5) The procedure for the meeting of the Academic Council shall be as prescribed.
